Joy Jones is a professional actor, acting teacher and native Washingtonian. Washington Theatre: Washington Stage Guild and American Century Theatre. New York and Regional Theatre: The Royal Shakespeare Company, The Public Theater, Playwrights Horizons, The Lincoln Center Festival, The Denver Center, PlayMakers Repertory, Arkansas Repertory Theatre and numerous others. On-camera: Homicide (NBC), Tantalus (PBS), The Shakespeare Sessions (PBS) and many industrials.
Joy’s acting training includes an MFA in Acting from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, a BA in Drama from the University of Virginia, and a Certificate in Classical Acting from the British American Drama Academy. Her movement training includes stage combat, capoeira, Laban Movement Analysis, the Lucid Body technique, and ballroom dance.
Joy is also a proud member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA. A longtime fan of speculative fiction, she is delighted to be a member of the Broken Continent family.
